Course Description
Pre-deployment Training provides the essential knowledge required by all peacekeeping personnel to function effectively in a UN peacekeeping operations.
Course aim

The purpose of pre-deployment training is to increase level of preparedness of peacekeeping personnel in order to allow deployment on UN peacekeeping operations in the mission area.

Introduction to UN structure, principles and standards
An overview of UN Peacekeeping Operations
Mandated tasks of UN Peacekeeping Operations
UN standards of conduct
Cultural awareness
First aid procedures
Mine/IED awareness
ROE and use of force
Practical exercise FTX “Blue flag”
Assessment of peacekeeping capabilities and readiness to deploy
