Course Description
Pre-deployment Training provides the essential knowledge required by all peacekeeping personnel to function effectively in a UN peacekeeping operations.
Course aim
The purpose of pre-deployment training is to increase level of preparedness of peacekeeping personnel in order to allow deployment on UN peacekeeping operations in the mission area.

- Intensive English Language Training
- Introduction to UN structure, principles and standards
- An overview of UN Peacekeeping Operations
- Mandated tasks of UN Peacekeeping Operations
- UN standards of conduct
- Cultural awareness
- First aid procedures
- Mine/IED awareness
- ROE and use of force
- Practical exercise FTX “Blue flag”
- Assessment of peacekeeping capabilities and readiness to deploy
