Course Description
The curriculum mostly derives from the redeveloped and strengthened Core Pre-deployment Training Materials (CPTM). This includes cross- cutting themes and priorities such as conduct and discipline, sexual exploitation and abuse, protection of civilians, human rights, gender mainstreaming, conflict related sexual violence, child protection, and environmental protection. There are additional embedded sessions to ensure smooth bridging between national and UN-sought competencies and skills.
Course aim

The aim of this course is to provide all categories of personnel (military, police and civilian) with basic knowledge in order to acquire standards for UN peacekeepers. These standards guide peacekeeping personnel as they carry out critical tasks that assist countries in the transition from conflict to peace.
COURSE NOTES
  • Duration: 5 days (1 week)
  • Seat allocation: 25 participants
  • Training audience: Employees of national and regional governmental agencies, as well as IOs and NGOs deployed to the region. The course is open to NATO, PfP, MD, ICI and other partner nations as approved.
  • Course language: English, Russian
  • Security clearance: Unclassified
