INTRODUCTION TO KAZCENT

Kazakhstan Peace Operations Centre (KAZCENT) is a military training establishment of the Ministry of Defence that is honored to be a member of International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC) and Partnership Training and Education Centres (PTEC) communities, with the mission to conduct, co-organize and host interoperability events (specialized courses and intensive language training) for national contingent as well as for international partners.

It is located at the address: 210 Zharokova str., Almaty.

MISSION STATEMENT
To deliver interoperability training to national, regional and international audience through offered language training and specialized courses. To build inter-doctrinal bridge between national and international uniformed standards.
HISTORICAL MILESTONES
2006
Established in December 2006 as the “Partnership for Peace” Training Centre at the Defense Institute of Foreign Languages
2010
Recognized by HQ Supreme Allied Command Transformation (SACT) as a member to Partnership Training and Education Centres (PTEC) community in December 2010
2019
UNSOC and UNPOC courses received UN training recognition in January 2019
2020
Expanded and renamed to “Kazakhstan Peace Operations Centre”, re-subordinated to Combat Training Department under the General Staff in February 2020
2022
Due to organizational and staff activities expanded and renamed to “Kazakhstan peace operations Centre”, re-subordinated to International Cooperation Department under the General Staff in November 2022
Development directions
  • Further strengthening of regional capacity
  • Certification of all courses conducted by the UN
  • Independent pre-training of the national peacekeeping contingent before leaving for the UN mission
  • Development and certification of the course "UN Military Observers"
  • Conducting field courses by mobile training groups.
  • Inclusion of a French language course in the curriculum.
  • Holding in Kazakhstan the annual conference of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres

KAZCENT was established in 2006 on the basis of the Military Institute of Foreign Languages ​​of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan

2010

Recognized as the 19th member of the Community of Learning and Training Centres Partnership in December 2010

2016

Joined the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres in September 2016
