Peacekeeping Operations Centre of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan honored female servicemen.
The day before International Women's Day, Colonel Bauyrzhan Nigmetullin, Commandant of the Centre, congratulated the fairer half of the military team on 8 March, emphasizing the role of women in establishing a safe world where it is urgently needed.
“Today, the Peacekeeping Operations Centre is carrying out systematic work to involve more women in the process of training and participation in peacekeeping activities,” said Bauyrzhan Nigmetullin. “Such initiatives contribute to the creation of an environment where women can show their professionalism on an equal basis with men”.
It also highlights the gradual increase in the number of women in peacekeeping operations, which is an important step towards achieving gender equality in the military sphere.
Female military personnel of the Centre are involved in international courses abroad. Thus, senior teaching officer Major Rimma Shakeeva, as a teaching instructor, took part in the course "UN Police", which took place in the city of Harskamp in the Kingdom of the Netherlands last autumn.
It is worth noting that currently the seventh female serviceman of our country is participating in the UN mission in Western Sahara. Major Dana Zhamalieva has been serving on the African continent for several months as a military observer.
In addition, seven female soldiers (four medics, two cooks and one sniper) are leaving as part of the peacekeeping contingent for the UN mission in the Golan Heights on 14 March. They, along with male military personnel, have undergone comprehensive peacekeeping training, English language training for six months and are ready to perform their assigned tasks.
During the event, the KAZCENT servicemen expressed their sincere gratitude to the women of the team, who, along with men, carry out difficult military service, making their significant contribution to the overall process of peacekeeping training, and also wished that they always had relatives, loving and faithful people by their side.
