This event was devoted to the discussion of main issues of international importance in the format of debates, which were the closest in form to the meetings of the UN committees. Students of senior classes, colleges and universities from Kazakhstan and abroad were invited to participate in the conference, who acted as delegates from different countries - members of the UN.
Representatives of foreign embassies and consulates were invited to the opening ceremony with their welcoming speeches, such as General Consul of the Republic of South Korea in Almaty - Honorable Professor of Turan University Mr. Jeon Seung-Min; the United Nations Department Public Information representative in Almaty Mr. Vlastimil Samek; Assistant Public Affairs Officer, US General Consulate in Almaty Ms. Carly Van Orman; Head of Trade and Economic Office, Embassy of Bulgaria Mr. Miladin Miladinov; Assistant Public Affairs Officer, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan General Consulate in Almaty Mr. Haidari Farhad;
The Conference participants modeled, recreated the work and the atmosphere of various United Nations committees and agencies, where represented delegates defended the position of the country, rather than their personal opinion. The final goal of each committee is to adopt a resolution on the debated issue. Each committee held in Kazakh, Russian and English languages.
The program of the Conference included meetings in six committees:
- United Nations Development Program (UNDP)
- Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ)
- Legal Committee (GA VI)
- Economic Social and Cultural Committee (ECOSOC)
- Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM — GA III)
- Security Council (SC)
The participants of the conference expressed gratitude for the contribution of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan in maintaining peace and security both inside the country and abroad, and also showed interest in further participation of servicemen in the activities of the university.
