Navigating complexities for a sustainable future

Military personnel of the Peace Operations Centre of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan took part in the conference of the International Model of the United Nations, held annually at the Kazakh Abylai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages.

The event was attended by students of higher educational institutions from different countries, representatives of international organizations, consular services, and the UN office in Almaty.

The main agenda of the conference is "Navigating Complexities for a Sustainable Future" during which its participants discuss such global topics as "Problems and prospects of generative artificial intelligence", "Development of protocols for preparedness for epidemics and pandemics" and others.

When speaking at the opening of the symposium with a welcoming speech, Colonel Bauyrzhan Nigmetullin, the Head of the Centre, stressed that United Nations peacekeeping is an effective tool for strengthening international peace and security.

"Strengthening the UN peacekeeping potential is becoming one of the priorities of Kazakhstan's activities in the international arena," said Colonel Bauyrzhan Nigmetullin. "I am sure that holding such events will give a full understanding of the role of the UN Member state and the Organization as a whole."

It is worth noting that the KAZCENT military personnel expressed their willingness to share knowledge and practical experience in the field of peacekeeping with the participants of the conference.
