The Kazakh delegation took part in the V Ministerial Conference of the UN Member States

The Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan was represented at the V Ministerial Conference of the United Nations Member States on Peacekeeping by a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Sultan Kamaletdinov.

The meeting of the heads of defense and foreign policy departments was held in the capital of the Republic of Ghana, Accra.

The event, chaired by UN Under-Secretaries-General Jean-Pierre Lacroix and Atul Hare, was attended by delegations from 91 foreign countries and nine international and regional organizations.

The conference discussed the current risks and challenges in the framework of UN peacekeeping, as well as the possibilities of solving them by consolidating the efforts of all UN member states.

Noting the importance of peacekeeping in general, the Kazakh side informed the conference participants about the current state and prospects for the development of peacekeeping activities in Kazakhstan. The report of the representative of the Defense department was highly appreciated by the participants of the conference.

Within the framework of the ministerial conference, the delegation of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of partner countries, at which prospects for further cooperation were discussed.
