The national flag of Kazakhstan is raised on the Golan Heights

A solemn ceremony of raising the flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place at the Faouar peacekeeping base in the Golan Heights.

It is symbolic that this historic event for the country took place on Defender of the Fatherland Day and the formation of the Armed Forces of our country.

The solemn event was attended by the commander of the mission, Lieutenant General Kurmal Nirmal and the heads of peacekeeping contingents operating in its composition.

The granting of a United Nations mandate to Kazakhstan to independently deploy and carry out a peacekeeping mission is evidence of recognition of the high level of training of our military personnel and the country's growing authority on the world stage.

In accordance with the mandate of the UN mission in the Golan Heights, 139 Kazakhstanis perform tasks to maintain a ceasefire between the warring parties.

– It is a great honor and responsibility to represent Kazakhstan outside the state, – said the commander of the national peacekeeping contingent, Lieutenant Colonel Zhiger Aipov. – Let the sky-blue flag of our country be a symbol of peace, stability and hope for a better future.

It should be added that the Kazakh peacekeeping contingent, being a company of the reserve of the commander of the mission, performs tasks of patrolling in the area of responsibility, guarding, strengthening checkpoints and clearing explosive ordnance.

The personnel of the peacekeeping company is located at the Faouar base, where the mission headquarters is located. Kazakh peacekeepers are provided with everything necessary to effectively carry out their tasks.
