On the basis of the Center for Peacekeeping Operations of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regular training sessions are held with candidates for the positions of military observers and staff officers to be sent to UN peacekeeping missions.
17 servicemen from different units of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, including two female servicemen, take part in them.
To participate in UN peacekeeping missions, officers are selected according to strict criteria. During the selection process, not only military skills are evaluated, but also moral and psychological stability, physical fitness and knowledge of foreign languages.
During the week, candidates will pass a medical commission, psychological testing, pass physical fitness standards, show driving skills with a manual transmission, as well as the level of English proficiency.
Upon completion of the training camps, the candidates who have passed the selection will be enrolled in the reserve of officers for further deployment to UN peacekeeping missions.
