The International Day of UN Peacekeepers is celebrated annually on May 29. Kazakhstan makes a significant contribution to strengthening international security and to the activities of the UN peacekeeping mission. This helps to enhance the role of the state and its positive image on the world stage.

Since joining the UN, Kazakhstan has been and remains an important actor in ensuring stability and security in the Central Asian region, widely supporting the peace initiatives of this reputable international organization.

The head of the Peace Operations Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Colonel Bauyrzhan Nigmetullin, familiarized the participants of the event in detail with the training system of Kazakhstani peacekeepers. He highlighted issues of interaction with UN structures, international standards and requirements for candidates, and spoke about the specifics of carrying out missions in different regions and countries. In general, the center's work is aimed at increasing the capacity of the country's peacekeeping contingent, including in the framework of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

During the forum, issues were raised on the formation of human capital, in particular on the training of qualified military personnel with knowledge and skills in the field of responsible and sustainable use of information technology.

It was noted that this has become especially relevant at the present time, due to the transformation of the image and manner of conducting military operations. In this regard, it becomes important to create and improve the effectiveness of developments using information technologies, including artificial intelligence, for use in peacekeeping missions.

Following the results of the work, the forum participants considered a draft resolution with proposals for conducting research on peacekeeping, special courses for students of military departments. They also supported the initiative to create on the basis of IITU a partner network of military departments of universities of Kazakhstan on peacekeeping under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
